About me

I find the Puget Sound area incredibly beautiful, but it’s hard to ignore how far it’s drifted from its natural state. Once my perspective changed, so did the world around me. I can’t unsee it — Ivy and invasive plants swallowing trees, shrubs, and the land I see as sacred. Seeing the land this way changed me, and once you start looking at the world through a different lens, there’s no going back.

Learning about the native plants and how they belong here shifted everything for me. The native plants have been nourishing wildlife and the land for generations, they are the true heart of this place. When invasive plants take over, it’s not just a visual issue, it’s the quiet loss of generational habitat, and wisdom that has existed long before us.

That’s why I started Atwood Restoration — to help bring the land back to its roots. My work is simple: removing invasive plants by hand and assisting nature in its recovery. I focus on clearing what doesn’t belong and creating space for what does, starting right here, in our own backyards.
